# Bluetooth Disconnect Alert

New in SA6 \*\*SA6 version introduced\*\*

**Purpose**

Alerts the user (sound) when a paired Bluetooth peripheral — e.g. a barcode scanner or sled — disconnects unexpectedly, so the user notices immediately rather than continuing to scan into a device that isn't receiving data.

**Location**

features/bluetooth/alert/BluetoothDisconnectAlertHandler.kt, utils/BluetoothConnectionTracker.kt, common/BluetoothDisconnectAlertConfig.kt.

\*\*Screenshots \<will provide screenshots for this>

**Responsibilities**

* Track the connection state of paired Bluetooth peripherals (BluetoothConnectionTracker).
* When a tracked peripheral disconnects without a corresponding expected/user-initiated disconnect, play an alert sound.
* Fire the bluetoothdisconnectalert event when the alert UI/sound is triggered.

**Configuration**

Config-driven via a bluetoothDisconnectAlert object (BluetoothDisconnectAlertConfig) nested in SupportAgentConfig:

| Configuration                        | Type             | Default | Description                                       |
| ------------------------------------ | ---------------- | ------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| bluetoothDisconnectAlert.enable      | Boolean          | -       | Enables the Bluetooth Disconnect Alert feature    |
| bluetoothDisconnectAlert.media       | String           | -       | Path/identifier for the alert sound               |
| bluetoothDisconnectAlert.volume      | Integer          | 80      | Alert volume, clamped to 50–100                   |
| bluetoothDisconnectAlert.timeRunning | Integer(seconds) | 15      | How long the alert plays, clamped to 5–30 seconds |

#### Dependencies

* BLUETOOTH\_CONNECT/BLUETOOTH\_SCAN runtime permissions.
* Requires a peripheral to already be paired; this feature does not perform pairing itself.

#### Events

* `bluetoothdisconnectalert` — See event catalog \<need to link this to event catalog>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.bluefletch.com/bluefletch-enterprise/product-guides/sa6-notes/archive/features-archived-notes/bluetooth-disconnect-alert.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
