# Chat Audio Transcription

The BlueFletch Chat Audio Transcription enables organizations to convert audio messages into text. Users can choose between two transcription options - before or after sending the audio - based on communication preferences and organizational priorities.

### Transcription Options

#### Before Sending

Transcription is completed before the audio message is sent. The text accompanies the audio in a single message.

#### After Sending

Transcription is processed after the audio message is sent, delivering the audio first and the transcription separately.

### To configure transcription settings in the BlueFletch Portal:

1. Access the Manage Organization page.
2. Navigate to the Chat Options section.
3. Use the dropdown menu to select one of three options:

* OFF (default): No transcription enabled.
* Before Sending: Enable transcription before sending.
* After Sending: Enable transcription after sending.

4. Save changes to apply your selection.

### Highlights and Limitations

### Before Sending

#### Highlights:

* Combines audio and transcription into a single message for easier tracking and delivery.
* Transcription is immediately available alongside the audio, offering a seamless user experience.

#### Limitations:

* Delivery of the audio message is slightly slower due to the time required for transcription processing.

### After Sending

#### Highlights:

* Audio messages are delivered quickly, as there’s no delay caused by transcription processing.
* Users can access the audio message immediately, ensuring faster communication.

#### Limitations:

* Two separate messages are sent, which can generate additional notifications.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.bluefletch.com/bluefletch-enterprise/product-guides/portal/chat-manager/chat-audio-transcription.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
